Entries are open

Entries for the 2019 Ōra King Awards are now open. We invite you to share with us how you incorporate the ethos of sustainability in your work and to create an Ōra King dish that symbolises this.

What is your Story?

We are all on a journey to live more sustainably.

We want to celebrate the big and small steps that chefs and restaurants are taking to live more sustainably. Share your sustainability story and create an Ōra King dish to communicate this.

New Zealand Celebration

All finalists will be flown to Nelson, New Zealand for the Awards Celebration this October, including an artisan producer tour of the Marlborough region, home of New Zealand King Salmon.
The best entries will be featured in a book of sustainable food stories, published later this year.

Entries close July 31.

Judging Criteria

Entries will be judged on creativity, craftsmanship and how effectively the dish interprets the competition theme; Sustain.

The judging panel is comprised of internationally acclaimed chefs and food writers.

The Ōra King Awards

The Ōra King Awards were established to drive innovation and creativity among chefs who use Ōra King salmon. The annual competition is open to chefs in New Zealand, Australia, North America and Japan. There is a Best Dish winner awarded for each of the four regions.
